To ensure the highest welding standards are consistently met, all PMB engineering’s welding procedures are developed in accordance with the recognised British/ISO Standards, using Lloyd’s rules and regulations and with the aid of Lloyd’s surveyors as witnessing authorities. Our team of Qualified Welders carry out testing against Lloyd’s code-compliant processes using various welding methods including MMA, FCAW, MIG, MAG, TIG on many different materials, like carbon steels, stainless steels, aluminium and CuNi. The final independent review is from a surveyor, tasked by Lloyd’s Register. The review process monitors and improves the safety and quality of construction requirements for shipbuilding, marine engineering, structural steelwork (BS EN 1090) and any general welding activities.

FIRE RATED VENTILATION & EXTRACTION

We are perfectly placed to provide ventilation installations of the highest quality to commercial, retail and industrial clients across the UK. From fresh air and extraction systems to heat reclaiming and smoke removal, we provide customers with the complete ventilation system. Design, Manufacture, Installation & Maintenance Fire rated ductwork improves the safe operation of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems by minimising the chance of fire spread. Effective fire resilient insulation acts as a barrier between ducts, to slow down or prevent the passage of flames and smoke around the building The importance of full technical support for specifiers, designers, fabricators and installers cannot be underestimated. At PMB we wish to ensure our clients receive a complete and timely back-up service and we are committed to supporting our clients in the fullest way possible. As an approved installer, PMB’s market leading product range for duct work, Firemac FM Fire Duct systems, has a proven track record in the UK, the Middle East, Africa, India and Asia. Widely used in all manner of buildings, infrastructure, hospitals, high rise residential and commercial restaurant chains for kitchen extract etc. From initial concepts, through to design and specification of passive fire protection system, PMB will assist our clients in the provision of drawings, technical design support, installation support and training for products and systems to ensure the highest possible levels of fire protection. STRUCTURAL STEEL FABRICATION – BS EN 1090

PMB offers a structural steel supply and installation service throughout England for both domestic and commercial steel fabrication projects. As we offer a quick and reliable service, we have become many people’s first choice for structural steelwork and steel fabrication. We offer a free site inspection and consultation service to provide impartial project advice and cost estimates. We can work with your architect, project management team or builder to determine what steelwork is required. Manufacturing companies must comply with the requirements of the new EN 1090 standards to obtain the CE Marking for their structures and put them on the European market. Without the CE Marking, the steel suppliers face potential legal consequences for any damage caused by these structures. Under the new requirements, manufacturers must prove the conformity of their products through type testing and the certification of their Factory Production Control (FPC) by a third-party Notified Body before issuing a Declaration of Performance. Having achieved BS EN 1090 certification to Execution Class 2. PMB are able to fabricate projects for residential blocks, commercial properties and agricultural properties, as well as many other projects (within the UK market). Working to the BS EN 1090 standard also allows us to have much better control over our internal processes and enables us to provide high-quality products to our customers. Our experienced team members work hard to ensure standards are always high, no matter the task.

PIPE FITTING AND CODED WELDING

PMB have our own in-house fabrication facility allowing us to provide specialised welded pre-fabricated pipe work. Including the welding of Mild Steel, Stainless Steel & Cunifer pipe. We fabricate from the smallest of pipe sizes through to the largest and to the required standard dependent upon your specification requirements. Prefabrication can be produced from existing sketches, or we can provide this through our on-site measuring service. We can also provide non-destructive testing (NDT), weld maps, ultra sonic testing at our works or sent away for radiographic testing and weld tagging if required. Here at PMB, Having Lloyds Register endorse our highly qualified welders and welding operators provides confidence that our business complies with the required standards, and to LR rules and regulations. LR provides all important tests for national and global requirements for the maritime environment, so will assure our clients that our team meets their expectations. This enables us to prove that we are up for any challenge that calls for high-quality welds.

Proof load testing of lifting equipment and structures aswell as life-saving appliances is a mandatory requirement and is performed in order to verify the integrity of load-bearing systems. Our team of engineers are capable of undertaking any load testing project safely, efficiently and economically. Proof load testing water-filled weight bags are specially designed as a simple, safe and cost-effective proof load testing solution for lifting equipment and structures, whether for static or dynamic load testing of davits, winches, cranes, lifting equipment, beam and wire falls, in both marine and industrial sectors. At PMB we offer Expert load testing services for cranes, beams, davits, hoists, walkways and lifeboats across all major industries. Crane test water bags for proof load testing is one of the most simple, safe and the cost-effective load test solutions.
